I've been wrestling with Ransackable scopes lately too, and it's definitely tricky getting the params to pass through correctly. I had a similar issue where my scope wasn't receiving the boolean value. I ended up double-checking my form input names to make absolutely sure they matched what params.permit was expecting. Sometimes, when I'm debugging something like this and feeling stuck, I just need to take a break and play a quick round of Eggy Car. The sheer randomness of dropping that egg always reminds me not to overthink the small stuff!
