Stack Overflow survey results for the years 2022 and 2023 Analysis

• This project is use to two data on dataset:
  • 2023: In May 2023 over 90,000 developers responded to our annual survey about how they learn and level up, which tools they're using, and which ones they want.
  • 2022: In May 2022 over 70,000 developers told us how they learn and level up, which tools they’re using, and what they want.

Introduction:

In this notebook, I will delve into the Stack Overflow survey results for the years 2022 and 2023, aiming to extract insights related to professional developers and career prospects in Vietnam. Today, let's explore some character this data.

About the Dataset:

• The 2022 data comprises a total of 79 columns, which include 5 float-type columns, 1 integer-type column, and 73 object-type columns. Some noteworthy columns for analysis include 'LanguageHaveWorkedWith,' 'LanguageWantToWorkWith,' and 'Country.'

• The 2023 data consists of a total of 84 columns, including 3 float-type columns, 1 integer-type column, and 80 object-type columns. Some noteworthy columns for analysis include 'LanguageHaveWorkedWith,' 'LanguageWantToWorkWith,' and 'Country.'

This analysis focuses on delving deep into the Stack Overflow survey data for the years 2022 and 2023. The primary objective is to gain comprehensive insights into the world of professional developers and their career prospects in Vietnam.

To achieve this goal, we will tackle three fundamental questions:

• Programming Language Trends: We aim to uncover the prevalent programming languages utilized in professional work and identify the ones in high demand. By examining the Stack Overflow survey data from both 2022 and 2023, we seek to provide an up-to-date view of the programming language landscape in Vietnam.

• Workplace Language Correlations: We will explore how the choice of programming languages used in the workplace correlates with the languages that individuals in Vietnam aspire to learn. This analysis will help us understand the dynamics of skill development within the country.

• Most Wanted Languages: We will investigate the most sought-after programming languages in Vietnam, as indicated by the Stack Overflow survey data for the years 2022 and 2023. This information is crucial for developers and employers looking to stay in tune with the evolving technology landscape.

Through these inquiries, we aim to provide valuable insights to developers, tech enthusiasts, and industry stakeholders, ultimately contributing to informed decisions and strategic planning within the Vietnamese tech sector.

1. Which programming languages are predominantly used in professional work, and which ones are in high demand, based on the Stack Overflow survey data from 2022 and 2023?

2. How is the usage of programming languages in the workplace correlated with the programming languages that people in Vietnam aspire to learn, as indicated in the Stack Overflow survey data of 2022 and 2023?

3. What are the most sought-after programming languages in Vietnam, as revealed by the Stack Overflow survey data for 2022 and 2023?

Some results after analysis

The first question: Which programming languages are predominantly used in professional work, and which ones are in high demand, based on the Stack Overflow survey data from 2022 and 2023?

Evaluate the Results

• JavaScript is the dominant language throughout 2022 and early 2023, with a substantial lead over other languages. This indicates its prominence in the Vietnamese market for web development.

• Following closely behind JavaScript is HTML/CSS, showing a notable upward trend. This trend highlights the strong emphasis on web design and development in Vietnam.

• Languages with straightforward syntax and robust frameworks, such as Python and Java, maintain a significant presence, securing a place in the top 5. On the other hand, lighter languages with complex syntax, like C and C++, are on a declining trajectory.

• Languages in high-demand sectors such as AI and data, including Python and SQL, exhibit significant improvements, resulting in higher rankings compared to previous years.

The second question: How is the usage of programming languages in the workplace correlated with the programming languages that people in Vietnam aspire to learn, as indicated in the Stack Overflow survey data of 2022 and 2023?

Based on the correlation chart:

• Certain languages exhibit strong correlations with others, such as HTML/CSS with JS, HTML/CSS with PHP, SQL. Notably, there is a robust correlation between HTML/CSS and TypeScript.

• Python and JavaScript also appear to be powerful languages with significant correlations with numerous other languages.

The last question: What are the most sought-after programming languages in Vietnam, as revealed by the Stack Overflow survey data for 2022 and 2023?

Evaluate the Results

• Compared to the chart depicting past trends, JavaScript still holds the top position.
• A noticeable difference is evident between the orange and green columns.
• TypeScript is emerging as a significant trend.
